About Our Facilities

Our funeral home in Traverse City, MI is owned and operated by the Jonkhoff family, who have been serving families in Michigan since 1884. Like the Jonkhoff family, the funeral home’s building itself has deep roots in Michigan history. Before becoming a funeral home, the beautiful mansion on Sixth Street served as the home of Traverse City founder, Perry Hannah. Hannah’s building team took two years to build the mansion, beginning construction in 1891 and finishing in 1893 with four 3,500 square foot floors and 40 rooms. Today, Reynolds-Jonkhoff utilizes the vast amount of space and beautiful, hand-crafted architecture to create a dignified and memorable setting for memorial and funeral services.

Our funeral home is dedicated to serving families with the top-quality funeral, memorial, and cremation services in Traverse City and surrounding areas. Families who choose cremation are guaranteed to be taken care of by our cremation professionals and may even accompany their loved one to the most trusted and advanced crematory in Traverse City.

At Reynolds-Jonkhoff, we take pride in giving back to our community every way we can. We do this by providing grief and healing resources such as our interactive aftercare videos, family grief support, grief support for children, and other resources. Our Traverse City funeral home also enjoys supporting local youth by participating in organizations such as the Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation’s Youth Advisory Council and sponsoring events such as the Perry Hannah “Leadership Lessons Learned” contest.
