Gilbert J. Reid Jr. "Joe" , 63, of Traverse City passed away at his home on December 23, 2017.

Joe was born on March 9, 1954 in Traverse City to the late Gilbert and Virginia L. Reid. Joe was the youngest of five children. He graduated from Traverse City High School in 1973. He was employed by Reid Brothers Electric and was a talented electrician. Gilbert (Joe) was a caring father and will especially be remembered as a wonderful grandfather.

Joe is survived by his siblings Paul, Dean (Mary) and Mary (Dennis) Chappel; daughter Rebecca and son Joseph G. Reid; grandchildren Destyne, Dylan, Robert, Shaylin, Mikhaela, Erin, Kylie and Zoey and his former wife and good friend Jean Chavalia.

Gilbert was preceded in death by his son Benjamin, brother Richard and parents.

The memorial service will be held at First Christian Church on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 1:00 pm.
