Jessie V. Fouch, 89, of Traverse City, left her earthly home on December 19, 2017, surrounded by family at Munson Medical Center.
She was born on July 15, 1928 to Harold and Elizabeth (Hofman) Houghton in Elmwood Township.
On July 26, 1947 Jerry Fouch walked into her life and for 70 years they have been walking side by side. Together they have lived well in 9 homes, building 3 of them, traveled from Hawaii to Alaska and many places in between. They wintered in Gulf Shores Alabama for 20 years and enjoyed the trips to Chapel Lodge Fishing. Together they raised a family, hunted, fished, gardened and watched the Detroit Tigers. As a beautiful couple, they were inseparable and remained independent until the end. They were the true representation of the greatest generation; a historic relationship, with strong values and even stronger relationships with their family and their faith.
Jessie is survived and missed dearly by her husband and partner in life, her children Lynn (Durke) Smith and Jerry (Susan) Fouch, her sisters Jeri (John) Fouch and Jean Watoski, her amazing grandchildren; Matthew (Jill) Fouch, Allison (Brody) Duncan, David (Ashley) Fouch and Kasie Carlson, as well as 10 amazing great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by both her parents, one son at infancy Kimberly Fouch, her brother and sister in law Gary and Beatrice Houghton and sister and brother in law Nancy and Glen Coleman as well as brother in law Bill Watkoski.

Visitation will take place on Thursday December 21, 2017 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home from 6-8pm with open sharing beginning at 7:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday December 22, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Church at 11:00am with visitation from 10-11am. Jessie's final resting place will be at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
