June K. Halliday, 90, born on May 2nd, 1927 in London England, June K. Halliday of Williamsburg, Michigan passed away on December 28th, 2017. She moved to the U.S. after WWII and lived in Redford, Michigan where she met and married William Halliday. June and William were married for almost 60 years and she worked as a bookkeeper and homemaker raising their two children in Franklin, Michigan.
She is survived by her two children; son, David (Karen) Halliday, daughter, Sherry L. Granader, grandson Christopher (Renee) Halliday, and two great granddaughters (Emery and Evelyn).
After enjoying many trips to Traverse City, Michigan, June and William moved there permanently to enjoy the area and home on the golf course at Grand Traverse Resort. She was proud to be asked to write an article for the Barefoot magazine where she shared their joy of hearing the music play during a summer wedding at the resort, seeing the resort tower bathed in golden light from the sun, and watching the swans teach their young how to land and take off on the pond behind their home.
In addition, June enjoyed painting scenery of the area turning many of her paintings into note cards, dining out at local eateries or enjoying the view from the Aerie as they dined on delicious dinners, and spending time with the family near the water.
Her husband William Halliday precedes her in death. (2012).
A memorial service will be held at Franklin Community Church in Franklin, Michigan on Friday, January 5th, 2018 at 11 am.
