Kathryn Anne VanTil, 80, stepped into the presence of the Lord, Sunday, May 17, 2020 at Traverse Manor Assisted Living Center in Traverse City, Michigan.
Kathryn was born in April 1940 to the late Dorothy Johanna and John Hoorn VanderWal in Grand Rapids, MI. She graduated from Grand Rapids Christian High School in 1957, continued her education at Calvin College, and earned her Master's Degree at the University of Michigan.
Kathryn married L. John VanTil, the love of her life, June 1961 subsequently living in Grand Rapids, MI and Grove City, PA then retiring to Traverse City to be near family. Kathryn was an educator, author and editor in her decades working at both Grove City High School and Grove City College. She was a very active member of Redeemer Presbyterian Church. She was well known for her love of family, generous spirit, enthusiastic teaching in the classroom, and her deep devotion to Christ and His Word.
Survivors include John; her three sons Dirk (Connie) VanTil, Seth (Bobbie) VanTil, Ethan (Heidi) VanTil; her sister, Mary Claire (William) Barton; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
