Obituary

Steven Anthony Geer, 62, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2017, at home in Traverse City. Steve is survived by his beloved partner, Julie Clynes; children Meghan (Nathan) von der Embse of Tampa, FL, Lyndsey (Andrew) Graham of Lowell, MI, and Aaron (Summer) Geer of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren Taylor, Leah, and Hadley Graham, and Quintin and Ava von der Embse; and dear Sarah Hoxie; siblings Kenneth Geer, Susan (Don) Schmuckal, and Richard (Tracey) Geer, all of Traverse City; and four nieces and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Marguerite Geer, and grandparents Lena and Joseph Patenaude, George Geer, and Ruth and Anthony
Eikey.

Born in Traverse City on February 10, 1955, Steve was a graduate of St. Francis High School. He was always handy and worked in construction for much of life. Steve also worked for the Bay Area Transportation Authority.

Quite a guitar player, some of Steve's best times was playing music with friends. He was a keen political satirist, a Detroit Tigers fan, and loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed camping, cooking, and the U.P. Most of all, he loved his children and grandchildren.

Steve's family expresses gratitude to all his medical care providers who served him with compassion, dignity, and joy. Special thanks are given to the Munson Dialysis Center.

A memorial service will be held at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Friday, February 23, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.
