Virginia Josephine Heebner, 85, of Traverse City passed away Friday, December 27, 2019 at her home in Traverse City.

Virginia was born on Saturday, February 10, 1934 to the late John and Mary (Brisky) Maynarich. in Calumet, MI. She married John Richard Heebner in Farmington Hills in 1984. He preceded her in death on March 2, 2001.

For many years, Ginny worked for Michigan Bell Telephone. She enjoyed gardening and working around her yard. She was an avid crossword puzzle solver and also enjoyed reading. She enjoyed her many friends at the grief support group at the Senior Center, but her greatest joy was being with her family.

Ginny is survived by her grandchildren, Veronica Rice of Traverse City, Ryan Rice of Indiana, Terra Strand and Crystal (Aries) Litana, all of Traverse City; her great grandchildren Kiana Rice, Memphis and Pepper Rice, Odin Hyland and Sebastian Litana. Ginny is also survived by her step children, Carol (Kris) Sowolla of CA, John Heebner of FL and Bob Heebner of MI, along with nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, her daughter Karen Rice and her sister, Donna.

An intimate family gathering will be held at a later date to celebrate Virginia's life.
