Obituary

Beatrice Priscilla (Gauthier) Peplinski (Maple City) happily, gratefully left for her eternal home on June 18, 2022. Her goal was to take care of her husband all his life, then live independently until God called her home. She did it! She ran a great race! But Busy Bea Farm will never be the same.

We will miss her example of hard work, devotion, and humility.
For over 40 years she worked alongside her husband, Edward Joseph Peplinski, Sr., to successfully raise their seven children, milk 30-some cows, and preserve a huge and bountiful vegetable garden. She also baked at Chef Pierre and Tom's Food Markets. Bea was happiest when getting her hands dirty as she tended to her beautiful flowers, and many would-be passers-by would stop to admire the garden and big, tidy farm yard.

We will miss her quick smile, bright blue eyes, and playfulness.
She and Ed met on the dance floor above Cedar Tavern in the late 1940s, married in 1950, and continued to polka for 68 happy years together. Family gatherings started with heaping platefuls of homemade cooking, and ended with Bea cutting the rug as her sons and grandsons strummed, hummed, and sung her favorite tunes on their guitars and harmonicas. And everyone jostled for the chair opposite hers at the Euchre table. Coming into the house, you would often find her on the floor among the blocks, crayons, and enamored grandchildren; that is, unless she was out riding shotgun on the golfcart or 4-wheeler as the giggling kids drove her around the yard. Of course, no one left without a wave from the porch and a bag of monster cookies for the ride home.

We will miss her trust in the Lord and the twice-a-day Rosaries she prayed for us.
Every Sunday morning, after chores, the whole family would clean up and dress up for Mass at St. Rita's Parish then come home for a hearty bacon-and-eggs family breakfast. Bea's devotion to the Catholic faith compelled her and Ed to travel to Rome, the Holy Land, Medjugorje (near Croatia), and around the country to visit their growing family.

Bea and Ed were truly proud of and grateful for all their children: Robert Peplinski of Lake Ann; Ruth (Kurt) Sebaly of Trenton; Edward (Wendy) Peplinski Jr. of Empire; Sharon (Stephen) Conley of Middletown, MD; Diana (Stephen) Tarsa of Cedar, and Neil (Heather) Peplinski of North Barrington, IL; and son Donald (Debra) Peplinski who died in 2012. They were blessed with 17 grandchildren: Kerri/Jeff, Josh/Jess, Brandon, Jessica, Sarah/Tom, Elizabeth/Rich, Alison, Meghan/Sam, Robin/Ryan, Lisa/Andy, Forrest, Elise, Kaelyn/Alex, Haley, Emma, Sam, and Abby. Then their family grew even more with great grandchildren: Hunter, Braydon, Sky, Archer, Emmett, Easton, and Georgia. Bea was so genuine in her infinite love for each of us.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to St. Rita/St. Joseph Parish, and Penrickton Center for Blind Children. More importantly, your continued prayers will help speed her along the journey to meet her Lord and Savior.

The family is being ministered to by the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home with visitation Friday June 24, 2022 from 5-7pm and Rite of Christian Burial Saturday June 25, 2022 at 11:00am at St. Rita's Church in Maple City. Visitation will also begin on Saturday at 10:00am up until the time of Mass.
