Elinor Greener, (nee Nelson), age 92, a lifelong resident of Hobart, IN and a resident of Glen Arbor, passed away on June 20, 2014 at her daughter's home in South Pasadena, FL.
Elinor was born in Hobart, IN on January 4, 1922. She married Francis Greener on January 4, 1941 and they had 11 children.
Elinor and Francis were owner and proprietors of Elinors Ladies and Childrens Apparel since 1954 and Greeners Store for Men in downtown Hobart.
Elinor was preceded in death by her husband, Francis; her parents, Carl and HIlda Nelson; brother, Arthur Nelson and his wife Bernice; sister, Ruth Claussen and her husband Arnold; granddaughters, Lucinda Graves-Holmes and Rachel VanDeinse; great-granddaughters, Katie Thyen, Quinn and Violet Greener.
She is survived by her children, Susan Graves, Leonard Greener (Cheryl Kaczorowski), Mary Ellen (David) Thyen, Michael (Betsy) Greener, Cynthia (Peter) Theodoros, Thomas Greener, Gregory Greener (Jody Burkhardt), JoAnne (Gregg) Schinella, Lisa (Michael) Field, Jeffrey (Sheri) Greener, Betsy (Tom) VanDeinse: grandchildren KC (Diana) Graves, Wayne Holmes, Samantha (Kennis) Russell, Rick (Stacy) Thyen, Rob Thyen, Sue (Bob) Behnke, Mathew (Jennifer)Greener, Brittanie(Braiden) Miller, Brianna, Andrew and Bethanie Greener, Nicole Greener, Jacob Schinella (Katie Thomason), Jeff (Melissa) Schinella and Jorie Schinella, Jill (John) Wilson, Mandy (BJ) Connaway, DJ Field (Amanda Garbarczyk), Luke (Jillian)Greener, Lindsay (Adam) Mandon, Cody (Hannah)Greener and Courtney Greener, Joseph, Gina, James, Jennifer and Kelly Van Deinse: 26 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.
A private wake and Mass will be held for Elinor at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Empire. Burial will be in St. Philip Neri Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contributions to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
