Elizabeth Garn, 90, of Empire, passed away June 2, 2020.
Elizabeth was born on May 6, 1930 in Hamburg, Germany, to the late Bernhard and Marie Wulff.
She married the love of her life Harry Garn who preceded her in death in 2010. Together they had three children. Her daughter Irene Garn also precedes her in death.
Elizabeth carried on her German culture through delicious cooking, music and creative decorating skills. She was a talented florist and loved her garden. She was also a radio announcer of German songs and folklore,
Elizabeth loved nature and the beauty of Leelanau County. Her favorite quiet space was sitting in her favorite chair, embracing the peace and quiet time at sunset.
For a number of years, Elizabeth enjoyed her job at Maple Valley Nursing Home as the Activity Social Director. Her time spent there was very rewarding to her and to the residents of the home.
Even during some of the most trying times for Elizabeth, her faith never wavered and she held steadfast to her prayers and teachings of scripture. After taking the appropriate courses, she became a Stephen Minister thru Glen Lake Reformed Church.
Elizabeth is is survived and missed by her daughter Kristie (Doug) Garn Dennett whom reside near Seattle, Washington, her son Roland who resides in Windsor, Canada, her granddaughter Amelia Dennett and her extended family back home in Germany and Canada, including her siblings; Käthe Wulff, Günther Wulff, Irene Sarvas and Irmtraud Wulff.
In addition to her husband, daughter and parents, she is also preceded in death by siblings; Gerhard Wulff, Enno Wulff and Martin Wulff.

A Celebration of Life honoring Elizabeth will take place Saturday July 25, 2020 at the Glen Lake Reformed Church at 11:00am.
