Obituary

TRAVERSE CITY — It is with great sadness that the children of Helen E. Sullivan, 98, of Traverse City, announce her death. Mother died with dignity and in peace on Aug. 29, 2011. She was proud to have been a homemaker and to have been an advocate of good government, justice and a sustainable environment. She worked tirelessly for these causes. She could sit for hours on commissions and committees, quietly and elegantly pressing home her point. She 'pounded' the pavement. She knocked on doors. She got out the vote. It is her wish that her family and friends continue her work. We are instructed to vote — she will be watching, or so we have been informed! (Doubt this at your peril.) Peace be with you, Patricia Yates, Robert and Kathy Sullivan, Ann Sullivan and David Soet. "When I am a part of the sun and rain and the wind, and caress your face, know that I loved you imperfectly the best I could. To you families and friends, pass on the love. This is my immortality." — Helen Seybold Sullivan Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Roger L.
