Joy Smith Fritsch, 87, passed away on May 17, 2016.
Joy was born on September 14, 1928 to the late Frank A. and Alva D. (Helander) Smith in Chicago, IL.
Raising five children, Joy taught them all the appreciation of adventure and the water. Some of the favorite past times were on the beach at their cottage in Yuba. These wonderful family moments were then transitioned onto the grandchildren, whom stole Joy's heart from the beginning. Being a grandmother of 7 was the greatest gift that Joy could have ever of imagined. Tom, Parker, Hadley, Signe, Bonnie, Connor and Lindsey all share stories of the lake, the beaches and the bonfires.
After moving to the Yuba area, Joy got involved with the Yuba Women's Club. She would always appreciate the holidays as she would throw lavish Christmas parties decorating with more then 4,000 bulbs.
Joy is survived by her daughter, Jill (Reno) Davis and two sons Don (Dana) McCullagh and Jack (Ruth) McCullagh and son in law Tom Booth. Her seven treasured grandchildren; Tom, Parker and Hadley Booth and Signe, Bonnie, Connor and Lindsey McCullagh.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jack and two children Jay McCullagh and Susan Booth.
