Kristin Joy Brott, of Traverse City, Michigan, was born January 3, 1969 of Bonnie (Hunt) and Robert Slaven. She passed away on November 5, 2019 from a sudden illness. She enjoyed movies, crocheting, and was fluent in the German and Turkish languages. She loved entertaining and introducing different cultured foods with family and friends. Most especially, she loved spoiling her cat Vladimir. She had many friends from all over the world. She was born in Traverse City and lived there all her life, other than approximately five years spent living in Berlin, Germany. She is survived by her husband Wilson Brott, daughter Leyla (Andrew) Melton, mother Bonnie Slaven, sister Misha Hunter, brother Matt (Pat) Slaven, nephew Steven Slaven, niece Larissa Hunter and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who were like family. She was preceded in death by her father Robert Slaven, and her sister Sherry Slaven.

As Kris has requested, there will be no funeral or memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Kris' memory be made to AC PAW, P.O. Box 94, Acme, Michigan 49610, or to the Cherryland Humane Society, 1750 Ahlberg Road, Traverse City, MI 49696.
