Seth "the unexpected" Thomas "the twin" Gray, 42 of Traverse City passed away with his family by his side on April 10, 2024.
Seth Thomas Gray was the unexpected twin, born 3 minutes after his fraternal twin brother Justin Arthur. This unexpected twin may be one of the reasons that ultrasounds were instituted for all pregnant mothers at Traverse City's Munson Medical Center from that day on.
Premature but strong, both twins were brought home from the hospital on their big brother, John Travis' 3rd birthday. "Happy Birthday Honey! Look what we got you!"
Seth was smart and savvy, funny, handsome and engaging. He was a crowd pleaser and could entertain anyone with outrageous stories and mind-boggling trivia recall. He never found a line he wouldn't cross or a rule he wouldn't challenge. His physical abilities and defiant independence caused for many trips to see his friends at the Emergency Department where his mother worked. Always having widely diverse personalities, Justin would come up with a creative idea and Seth follow through with it.
Long Lake Elementary to T.C. Central High School, Seth was a good student and a gifted athlete. He excelled in any activity he attempted, but his passion was hockey. He was Trojan team Captain and named to the All-State Michigan team in his senior year 2000.
Green was his favorite color, so MSU was his school. He graduated in 2005 with a degree in General Studies and quickly became a "Rock Star" for Rock Financial/Quicken Loans as a successful mortgage banker.
His joys in life were his family, his friends, a good party, a bonfire, movies, the family cottage and the Detroit Red Wings.
He is survived by his first-born Gerard Stansell(17); younger son Lucas (10); wife Megan (Nee Griffin); twin brother Justin(Lisa) and big brother Travis(Jessica); parents John and Kathryn Gray; surrogate Godparents Aunt Deb and Uncle Michael Gray, nephews and nieces Hannah, Garret, Maya and Marcus and many cousins.
Services will be held at Central United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 2:00 pm. Please join the family for the celebration of an extremely colorful short life. Wear your favorite hockey swag to the service and bring stories and anecdotes to share. No flowers please.
