GRAND RAPIDS – Veronica Marie Aeschliman, born March 23, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan. On January 5, 2017 when God opened the heavenly gates and called you home, you left us, how sad and empty was the feeling. They say there is a reason and time will heal, but neither time nor reason will change how we feel, for no one knows our heartache that lies behind our smiles, you are so very missed. Because we loved you, you can never be more than a thought away.
Mom grew up in the Cheboygan area, after marrying she moved to Traverse City. She was a wife and homemaker. Once after children were grown she worked at Dell's Tavern as the main bartender and waitress. She also was employed by T.C. State Hospital in the kitchen area before it closed. In retirement, she wintered in Florida. She was a great cook and loved to crochet and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Harold Aeschliman, also Irineo Agruda, father of her children and also her youngest son, Randal J. Agruda. She is survived by her children, Ernest J. (LaVonne) Agruda of Williamsburg, Christina A. Agruda of Wyoming, Linda M. (Thomas) Olney of Grand Rapids, and Andre (Kathy) Agruda of Adrian, also a step-son, Ronald (Toni) Aeschliman. She had 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
A special thanks to Kelly & Arlene at Elmcroft of Kentwood for their years of assistance and also to Faith Hospice of Trillium Woods, in Byron Center, Michigan and their specialized care given to Mom.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral, and cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will take place at Memorial Gardens in Traverse City with Pastor Randy Graber of Faith Missionary Church officiating.
