Beverly "Bev" Ann Schwenter, age 83, of Traverse City, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022, at Munson Medical Center with her husband nearby. Bev was born at home on February 19, 1939, in Traverse City, to the late Arthur and M. Iris (Jordan) Carpenter. She was the fourth of six children.

Bev graduated from Traverse City Senior High School in 1957 and continued many close friendships with classmates until her passing. Bev was a medical assistant for many years in several different doctors' offices around Traverse City.

On September 9, 1961, Bev was united in marriage to Robert R. Schwenter at St. Francis Catholic Church in Traverse City. They enjoyed 61 years of marriage together, and for many years spent their winters in Green Valley, Arizona, always returning home to Traverse City in the warmer months.

Bev is survived by her husband, Robert, of Traverse City; children, Michelle "Shelley" Belanger (Tom) of Rockford, Kathryn Stewart (Jim) of Estero, Florida, Nancy Laubach (Greg) of Traverse City and Scott Schwenter (Tammy) of Dublin, Ohio. Bev also cherished her 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister, Sharon Hill, and two brothers, Richard and Robert Carpenter.

She was predeceased by her parents and two brothers, Terry and Edward Carpenter.

A gathering of friends will be held in the spring to celebrate Bev's life.
