Traverse City - Beverly Jean Stephenson (Underwood), 77, passed away peacefully Feb 5, 2017. She was born on May 10, 1939 to Don and Jean Underwood.

Bev married the love of her life, Lawrence Stephenson on September 24, 1955; together they raised four children: Donald (Sheryl) Paterson of Empire, Teresa (Dale) Campbell of Williamsburg, Larry Jr. Stephenson of Traverse City and Annette Emery of Mayfield; six grandchildren Victor Stephenson, Nicole Stephenson, Ashley Mahn (Lundberg), Juston Stephenson, Stetson Stephenson and Jessica Novack (Emery); three great grandchildren; brothers Robert (Janet) Underwood, Ronald (Diane) Underwood, Don (Wanda) Underwood; sister Joanne (Doug) Gallagher; and many nieces and nephews.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jack, and grandson Justin Stephenson.

Along with raising their family and farming in the early years, Beverly cooked at Trinity Lutheran School for many years until starting their Pool and Spa business which they ran from 1969 until they retired in 2000. Beverly was an expert multi-tasker, took care of the business and family and always kept everything in order.

Beating breast cancer and heart issues, she enjoyed life to the fullest.

Once retired, Larry and Bev moved to Drummond Island and lived for many years, always ready to celebrate any occasion. Bev was the Queen of putting a party together in a heartbeat as everyone will remember her by.

The family would like to thank Barb Romberg for always keeping Bev looking beautiful, even when she couldn't leave the house anymore. Barb would come and do her hair every week, which always left Bev with a big smile.

Also, the family would like to thank the hospice nurses and Munson Hospice House for making her last days comfortable.

Per Bev's wishes, cremation has taken place and the family has chosen to celebrate her life privately.
