Obituary

Brad Swy, age 60, of Bellaire, MI was called to his Heavenly Home on Saturday, April 19, 2025.

CARING, LOVING, FORGIVING, and GOD LOVING are the words that best describe this amazing man. Brad was the light in any room he went in. His smile was so contagious, and he could make anyone laugh. Brad was so proud of his son Cody and his grandchildren, Saraé, Landon, and Quinn. If he wasn't helping people at work (MacDonald Marine), you would find Brad at his grandchildren's sporting events. He loved watching his grand babies play sports and watching his son coach them. Brad coached his son through years of youth sports. But if he wasn't at a ballpark, field, or basketball court somewhere in Michigan, you would find him with his brother, Brian, at Merritt Speedway where he would love watching races with his little brother. His passion and love for fishing and hunting was second to none. He loved to hunt with his son, he loved to fish with his grandchildren, and he loved hitting the lake with his brother. You would find him every weekend in the summer on the lake or multiple lakes a day.

Brad found the woman of his dreams in Julie; they spent the nights dancing away in the kitchen or just spending as much time together as possible. They enjoyed the simple things, if it was just going to a thrift shop and finding a treasure, or if it was going to Hopscotch for dinner. He always had a smile on his face and a huge reason for it was because of Julie. He will be missed by so many far and near, but as Brad always said, "God's got a plan for everything."

Brad was preceded in death by his father, Jack Swy, and his grandma, affectionately known as Grams.

He will be dearly missed by his sons, Cody (Brooke) Swy, Jasin Swy; life-partner, Julie Menestrina; grandchildren, Saraé, Landon, Quinn; stepchildren, Luca, AJ, Dana; mother, Barbara Swy; siblings, Brian (Debbie) Swy, Cindy (Mark) Boze; nieces and nephews, Eric, Adam, Troy, Meghan; and his beloved dog, Luna.

A Celebration of Brad's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association because Brad's heart was his biggest and best attribute. To leave a message for the family, please visit www.reynolds-jonkhoff.com .
