On October 11, 2020 Connie Lee Wennersten, (Randall, Bush, Geiger), made her last "road trip" to her creator at age 77, after a long battle with COPD and other related maladies.
She was born in Traverse City, Michigan on December 10, 1942 to parents, Joe Randall and Leota Hazel McSauby (Chupp, Lachniet). She was an exceptionally hard worker and worked as a bartender/factory worker all her life.
Connie and Carl married and had Nanette and Carl Todd, bringing Donnelle into the family making 3 children and a rounded family. Connie was a busy person going here and there doing different things and gadding about. The "road trip" was an enjoyable time as she loved to drive. Her dog Sassy was her companion later in life and the both of them went everywhere together. She had an infectious smile that made her countless friends.
The nursing staff at Pavillions who cared for her as their own, and where she spent the last three years of her life, loved her and will miss her. Members of the Grand Traverse Band, whom she knew from the beginning to the end of her life will also miss her.
Connie was preceded in death by her husband Carl who was the love of her life; Nanette Wennersten, daughter of Connie and Carl who passed at her birth; Joe Randall and Leota McSauby, her parents; brothers Jerry (Elaine) Chupp in Texas and Terry Lachniet in Petoskey.
Remaining are Donnelle Dickenson, of Benzonia and her brother Carl Todd Wennersten, of Ohio, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many cousins; and an adopted family (Randall) with which she was estranged. As the Covid Virus has deterred any gathering, and per Connie's request, cremation has taken place. Connie and Carl's ashes are to be scattered together in the Upper Peninsula. Please send cards and last wishes to 576 Autumnview Lane, Traverse City, Michigan 49685.
