Daniel Joseph Flees, 70, of Traverse City, Michigan passed away on Monday, July 27, 2020 at his home. Daniel was born on October 4, 1949 in Traverse City to the late Edmund and Mary (Winowiecki) Flees. He graduated from Traverse City Senior High School. The Elks Lodge #323 member was the former owner of T.C. Gym and was passionate about all-natural bodybuilding, winning many competitions including Mr. Michigan Natural in 1989. In his younger years, Daniel was a very competitive local tennis player and a talented musician, playing the drums in both "The Jaguars" and "Just Us".
Daniel was incredibly proud of his children and is survived by his sons, Scott (Barb) Flees and DJ (Kelley) Flees; his daughter, Lori Flees (James King); his step-daughter, Tracy Rushing (John Rooker); and his five grandchildren; Justin Kostiuk, Gavin Rooker, Oliver King, Grey Rooker and Lucy King. Also surviving are his partner, Mary Flees, and his siblings; Ed Flees, Jan (John) Lage, David (June) Flees and Judy (George) Rokos as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Flees.
In accordance with Daniel's wishes cremation has taken place.
