Francis M. Snow, 85, of Traverse City, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022 at Munson Medical Center. Frank was born on June 21, 1937 in Honor, Michigan to the late Lincoln Snow and Lucille (Hewitt) Snow Robson. He married the love of his life Sue Richardson on June 13, 1959 in Frankfort, Michigan.
He graduated, salutatorian, from Honor High School class of 1956. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Frank lived in Traverse City since 1961. He had been employed with Cone Drive, as a journeyman machine repairman, retiring in 2001 after over 42 years of service. He was a member of the American Military League. He spent many winters in Destin, Florida. Frank loved to travel; he traveled the U.S. extensively visiting nearly all 50 states. Some of his most memorable trips were to Hawaii, Mexico, Japan, the Bahamas and a river boat cruise through Europe. He also enjoyed playing golf, deer hunting, and fishing. He was a 30-year ambassador of the National Cherry Festival.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Sue, a daughter, Jan (Jim) Altizer-Verville and a son, Michael (Susan) Snow. Also surviving are grandchildren; Colleen (Matt) Revard, Samuel Snow, Emily (Christopher) Mosby and Tony Edwards, as well as several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Anderson, a brother, Robert Snow and a sister, Lois Marshall.
Please join us on October 8th from 1:00 to 3:30 to view pictures and tell stories, true or slightly enriched, as we celebrate Frank's life and the legacy he left behind. We will meet at the Botanical Gardens at Historic Barns Park, 1490 Red Drive, Traverse City. Light refreshments will be served. We look forward to seeing Frank's friends, family, and co-workers.
