Harold "Heff" Arnold Heffelfinger, 91 of Thompsonville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 03, 2013 at Culver Meadows with members of his loving family at his bedside.

Harold was born on April 10, 1922 in Thompsonville, MI to the late George and Sarah (Tripp) Heffelfinger. He married the late Margaret A. Ainslie on June 21, 1942. Together they lovingly raised three wonderful children.

Harold honorably served our country in the United States Air Force during WWII. He worked on the B-29's and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Upon returning from the service he worked for Hudson Motor Car Company and did an apprenticeship in drafting. He then went on to work at Cone Drive for 34 years, retiring in 1985. In his spare, Harold time liked tending to his orchard and garden and fishing his beloved Betsie River. He also was a loyal attendee to many football and basketball games for the Traverse City Schools.

Surviving Harold are his children, Ronald (Mari) Heffelfinger of Thompsonville, Sue Ann (Thomas) McKinley of Houston, TX., Gregory Heffelfinger of Houston TX., grandchildren Trishia Anderson, Jennifer Foltz, Torryn Heffelfinger, Rob Carpenter, Trent Carpenter, Chase Carpenter, Christy McClanahan, Katelyn McKinley, Madeline Heffelfinger, Matthew Heffelfinger, Andrew Heffelfinger, seven great grandchildren, and many other loving family members and friends.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents, wife Margaret, siblings, John Heffelfinger, Lottie Draper, Arthur Heffelfinger, Olive May, Georgia Snell, Maude Heffelfinger Luella Rathburn and a great grandson Max.

Graveside services will take place in the spring at the Thompsonville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Thompsonville Congregational Church or to a charity of your choice.
