Sister Noreen Tenbusch, IHM (Immaculate Heart of Mary), formerly Honorah Ellen Tenbusch died on January 6, 2025. Sister Noreen was born on September 25, 1933, to Fred J. and Honorah Ellen (Gill) Tenbusch.
Sister attended Epiphany Grade School and Immaculata High School (1951). She entered the Postulate on August 22, 1951, and made her final Profession of Vows on August 15, 1957. She graduated Marygrove College in June of 1956 (BA Education). She served as an elementary teacher at many regional schools including St. John's of Monroe, Holy Name of Birmingham, St. Mary's of Redford, S. Patrick's of Wyandotte and Christ the King of Detroit. On her retirement in June of 1998, she returned to teaching but this time in the Public School System in Hamtramck.
Sister Noreen was predeceased by her infant brother William James Tenbusch, her brother Dr. Fred J (Marylou, dcs'd) Tenbusch of Lansing, Sister, Sr Theresa Ann Tenbusch, IHM of Detroit, and her brother Francis G (Evelyn, dcs'd) Tenbusch.
She is survived by 6 nieces, 3 nephews, 17 great nieces and nephews, and 12 great-great nieces and nephews.
At the time of her death, she was living in Traverse City, MI, most recently at Traverse Manor, near her recently deceased brother, Francis and attended church at Christ the King Catholic Church in Acme.
Visitation will be from 9-10am at the IHM Motherhouse Chapel in Monroe Michigan. Services will begin at 10am.
The family would like to thank the staff at Traverse Manor for their impeccable and loving care of our aunt for the last 16 months and the loving staff of Hospice of Michigan who have become like family in the last four years.
