Jim, aged 88, was welcomed home on June 30, 2025. Welcoming him home is his youngest
child, John David Allen of Kerrville, TX (December 10, 1965 to December 17, 2024), his mom,
Emma Barbara Eisch, his dad, Clare George Allen, both of Alger, MI and his brother, George
Andrew Allen and several other family members.

During the last several month of his life, Jim suffered greatly from several severe vertebrae
fractures before, succumbing to Septic Shock and Cavitary Pneumonia at Munson Medical
Center in Traverse City.

Jim started life on November, 13, 1937 at Women's Hospital in Flint, MI. While growing up, he
spent many pleasurable (and not so pleasurable!) hours working on the family farm in Alger.
Family leisure time was spent hunting and fishing which brought him great joy in life. He also
learned the satisfaction of having a vegetable garden. Jim was an usher at the various Catholic
churches he attended.

He graduated from St. Mary's High School in Mt. Morris in 1955. While finishing his Bachelor of
Science in Mechanical Engineering degree at Michigan College of Mining and Technology, he
met his future wife, Anne Claire McNamee of Flint, MI. After a brief stint at Buick, he landed at
Dow Chemical in Midland, MI where he worked for several years before transferring to Dow
Chemical in Freeport, TX. After 26.9 years, Jim retired August 31,1993 from a career he truly
enjoyed.

After retirement, Jim and Anne split their time between the winter home in Kerrville, TX and the
home they built in Interlochen, MI.

Jim is survived by his wife of 64 years, Anne, their daughter Chris Allen, grand-daughters Sarah
and Amy Leach and several friends.
