John "Jake" David Wood, 74 of Traverse City passed away peacefully on May 9, 2024.
John was born on August 6, 1949 in Traverse City to the late Roderick Arthur and Theresa (Ducheny) Wood.
He graduated from St. Francis in 1967. He then went on to earn his teaching certificate from Central Michigan University. He was a huge Detroit Tigers and Lions fan. He also played softball for many years locally.
He is survived by his siblings Kim (Naeni), Janice and Mark; nieces and nephews John Wood, Holly Wood, Nicole Weller and Jonas Weller.
The family will celebrate his life privately.
Memorials may be directed to the Father Fred Foundation.
