Jack Peplinski

Jack Peplinski of Singer Island, Palm Beach, Florida, formerly of Traverse City, Michigan passed into New Life on August 23rd, 2025. He was born in Bay City, MI. September 7, 1937 to John & Tillie Peplinski who have preceded him in death. Jack had one sister Delores Herek, who preceded him in death. Jack grew up in the Bay City, MI and worked at Stalker Corporation as part of management. Jack leaves behind his wife of 53 years Arlene O’Dell Peplinski, and his five children, Tammy, Terri, Todd, Amy, and Shelly. Jack and Arlene together have two daughters, Amy (Rick) Ackerman of Grand Rapids & Sarasota, FL; Shelly (Brian) Thompson of Ada, MI; Grandchildren Joshua , Ava & Gabe Ackerman and Tyler, Carter, & Spencer Thompson. Jack has three children from his first marriage; Tammy (Jeff) Schade of Midland, MI & Jupiter, FL. Granddaughters Ashley (Bill ) Garchow & Alyssa (Jon) Okey & great grandchildren Liam & Inez. Terri (Mike) Baumgarten of Boyne City, MI & Sarasota, FL. Granddaughter Dr. Jaclyn Goslin & step-grandsons Nick & Mike Jr. Todd (Sheli) Peplinski of Sarasota, FL and granddaughters Faith & Lexie. Jack was a quiet man, but one of deep faith. He served the Lord in many ways, and one being his generosity and giving to others. As his parents and generations before had taught him, serving the Lord came first. He gave and donated to many in need, including multiple churches, families in need, and missionaries overseas. Jack had a gift of love and inclusion. If you knew Jack, you were loved like family. Jack attended MSU where he received his Nursing Home Administrative License, then joined his wife Arlene who was the Director of Nursing of Huron Woods Nursing Center, Inc. Kawkawlin, MI. Together they owned and operated Huron Woods, and Co-Founded “The Peplinski Group” which is now a group of ten Nursing Homes/Rehabilitation Centers throughout Michigan. Today their children and spouses continue on his and Arlene’s tradition of serving those in need of health care. Jack dedicated his life to serving many residents, families and staff. While building the family business Jack loved working with his children and their spouses and counted it a Blessing from God to work alongside his family. In Jack’s early years, he spent vacations traveling to Traverse City with Arlene and his children. They loved Traverse City so much they eventually built a home and resided there for 35 plus years. They were involved in Bay Pointe/Kennsington Church in Traverse City from early onset, where he was a member and served on the Building Committee. Jack loved to hunt Petoskey stones with his children and grandchildren at his home in northern Michigan. He also loved following, and identifying airplanes flying over head while sitting on his patio. Jack loved sharing his waterfront patio with family and friends for the Cherry Festival and Blue Angels. He and Arlene loved traveling to the Bahamas and Caribbean while visiting the different Islands. He loved the large family vacations he shared with Arlene, his children and grandchildren. In 1993 they renewed their marriage vows on the Island of St. John USVI with a full wedding service including all their children and spouses. Jack was an avid animal lover, especially his cats Tiger, Boots, Biff, Grace, Stanley and his newest Molly Blue. She loved him and was always by his side or in his lap until his final days here. Jack loved to make people laugh, and was great at telling funny stories. He also loved speaking in Polish to his grandchildren while they sat in amazement of his Polish skills. In Jack’s later years he simply enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved being surrounded by his family. He has enjoyed attending Christ Fellowship Church of Pam Beach Gardens. He leaves many friends and extended family; dear to his heart were Dr. Jeff (Rebecca) Szczepanski of Traverse City and their children. He will be remembered as a kind, gentle, generous man caring for others. Arrangements being cared for by Reynolds Jonkhoff, Traverse City. Celebration of Life will be held in Florida with the family.
