June Christine Baatz, 96, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025.
She was born on July 2, 1929 in Lancaster, PA to the late James and Dorothy Christine (Schifla) O'Connor.
She graduated from High School in Hastings and on April 10, 1954 she married Robert Daniel Baatz. They moved up north and soon after welcomed their daughter Peggy into the world.
June was a proud member of the Eastern Stars for nearly 70 years. She worked at Glen Lake Schools for 22 years in their kitchen and in her free time she enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She loved hummingbirds and honeybees and her grandchildren shared how she loved to watch Wheel of Fortune and the Game Show Network. She loved her family and friends dearly and was always there to lend a helping hand. She truly enjoyed helping others. She will be greatly missed and will be remembered for her caring and thoughtful heart.
June was preceded in death by her husband Robert; sister Carolyn J. O'Connor; brother-in-law Walter Beck and niece Linda Floramo.
June is survived by her daughter Peggy (Mike) Leggett; and grandchildren Maria (John) Leggett-Guldner, Aleah Leggett and Derrien Leggett; sister Shirley A. Beck; nephew David (Ronda) Beck, nephew-in-law Chuck Floramo; and great nieces and nephews Ashley (Charlie) Hazel, Justin Beck, Angela (Sylvia) Floramo and Joseph Floramo.
She will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery on November 3, 2025 at 3 pm. No photos.
