Kelly Bolton, 60, of Traverse City, Michigan, passed away on May 18, 2025. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, wife, and sister, and one of the kindest souls ever to have lived. A devout Catholic, she believed strongly in God and His plan, constantly reminding others to put their faith in Him and walk always in His light.
Kelly is survived by her husband, Donald, their children Donald, Cara (Jason), Adam (Brooke), and Austin (Erin); grandchildren Em, Alexis, Nolan, Finley, Kensington, Grayson, and Easton; as well as her sister Kim (Dave) and mother Carol and mother-in-law Susan. Her family meant the world to her, and her cherished memory will live on within them forever. Kelly's favorite saying regarding her family was, "If you want to change the world, go home and love your family," by Mother Teresa.
She spent the final decade and a half of her life employed at Immaculate Conception Catholic parish in Traverse City. Besides her family, the church was the joy of Kelly's life. Her boss, Father Anthony Citro, quickly became like a brother to her. The Traverse City Catholic community embraced Kelly. She seemed to know everyone around, and held so many people close to her heart, especially Maureen and Doug DeYoung.
A visitation will be held from 4-7 pm at Immaculate Conception church on Friday, May 23, with the funeral service being held also at the church on the following day, Saturday, May 24, beginning at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, Kelly asked that donations be made in her honor to the Immaculate Conception food pantry and the Grand Traverse Area Catholic Schools Tuition Assistance Program.
