Mary Frances Bremer

Mary Frances Bremer, 91, of Traverse City, passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mary Jamison was born on August 7, 1930 in Bradford TN, to the late Johnie and Zelma (Nolen) Jamison. She married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Jack Bremer, on November 3, 1947 in Flint, Michigan. He preceded her in death on October 12, 2020. Mary and Jack moved to Traverse City in 1984 after retirement. She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Mary had a gift of baking. Her pies and cookies, especially her Christmas cookies, were loved by all. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She liked traveling and spending winters in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Mary was an avid reader, the queen of crossword puzzles, and enjoyed playing cards and games. She also loved square dancing and round dancing with Jack. Above all, spending time with her family and being a grandma and great-grandma was her greatest joy. Mary is survived by two sons and a daughter, Richard (Paulette) Bremer, David (Marcia) Bremer and Kathy (Edward) Tokarek. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; Kevin (Kendra) Bremer, Tim (Summer) Bremer, Rachel (Bryan) Harris, Kelli DeGood, Michael (Alison) Bremer, Colin Tokarek and Nathan Tokarek as well as 14 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Sharon (Jim) Hobson as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four siblings. A memorial service honoring Mary will take place at 12:00 noon, with visitation starting at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1003 S. Maple St, Traverse City, Michigan, 49684. Rev. Michael Goers will officiate.
