Norma Mae Bathke, 90, of Traverse City, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions with her loving family at her side.

Norma was born on March 7, 1928 in Traverse City to the late Ray Arlo and Hazel Mary (Forton) Brugh. She married the late Theodore John Herman Bathke on August 8, 1948 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Traverse City. Together they lovingly raised two wonderful daughters.

Norma was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, which she dearly loved, for seventy years. She served on the Altar Guild, the Dorcas Society, and enjoyed going to church Bible classes.

Norma enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, and gardening. She will be remembered as a caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Though she will be missed, her family takes great comfort knowing she is with Jesus.

Surviving Norma are her children, Melinda Dickinson of Traverse City and Cynthia (Dennis) Hinze of Clinton Township; a brother, Richard (Vonda) Brugh of Lansing; grandchildren Matthew (Christina) Dickinson, Christopher (Katie) Hinze, and Emily (Ken) Moses; great granddaughters Madelyn, Isabelle, Stella, Olive and a great grandson Theodore on the way.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 22, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will take place next to her husband at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church.
