Raymond J. Musser

Raymond J. Musser, 83, of Traverse City, Michigan passed away on Friday. September 3, 2021 at his home in his garden, doing what he loved. Ray was born on July 31, 1938 in Mancelona, Michigan to the late Raymond and Vera (Kiel) Musser. He married the love of his life, Priscilla Olds on June 27, 1959. Ray had been employed as a Lab Technician with Munson Medical Center, retiring in 2007 after 48 years of service. Ray loved to be outside, he enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and chopping wood. His real passion was his garden, spending countless hours weeding, picking vegetables and tending to his plants. He enjoyed sharing the fruits of his labor with others, through his vegetable stand on Potter Road which was visited by many. Ray was a faithful member of East Bay Calvary Church for over 50 years. He was outgoing, had a great sense of humor and really enjoyed talking with others. Above all spending time with his family was his greatest joy. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Priscilla, three sons; Dave (Cindy) Musser, Brian (DeAnne) Musser and Jeff (Heidi) Musser and a daughter-in-law, Sue Musser Brown. Also surviving are grandchildren; Marguerite Musser, Katelyn (Jake) Dunham, Joshua Musser, Sarah (Jason) Backlund, Ellen Musser, Nathan (Megan) Musser, Nicholas Musser, Jeremy Musser, Kayla (Steve) Dehmel, McKenna Musser and Sawyer Musser, seven great-grandchildren as well as a brother, Dale (Iris) Musser and a sister, Sharon Harty. He was preceded in death by a son, Lawrence “Larry” Musser and a sister, Frances Marshall. Friends are welcome to visit with Ray’s family from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at East Bay Calvary Church 2225 E. Hammond Rd, Traverse City, MI 49686. A funeral service honoring Raymond will take place at 11:00 a.m., with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, September 10, 2021 at East Bay Calvary Church. Rev. Brian Conover will officiate.
