Obituary

Sally Anne Stauffer, 87, of Traverse City, passed away January 17, 2023.

Sally was born on June 17, 1935 to James and Vivian (Hanselman) Caris. She
grew up and graduated from High School in the Detroit area.

Sally married and moved to Coldwater, MI where her four children were born. A
turn of events created a new independence as a single mother. It was a
challenging situation at the time, but with her hard work and support of family and
friends, she successfully purchased a home that maintained a safe environment
where love was shared and responsibilities were accepted. In the early 70's,
Sally moved her family to Traverse City. Shortly after, she was introduced to
Harry Stauffer on a blind date. Needless to say, they hit it off immediately and
married after six weeks of courtship.

Through Harry, Sally acquired a love for the outdoors that included gardening,
hunting, fishing, looking for mushrooms, and camping. Sally and Harry had a
wonderful time together traveling to the U.P. and Florida in their RV, sharing
endless nights of campfires and cookouts. They enjoyed being hosts at various
campgrounds as much as being alone in each other's company. Unfortunately,
Harry passed away in 1989.

Sally is survived by her children Renee Glezman (Wayne), Steven (Carol) Baker,
and Rhonda (Scott) Lammers; grandchildren Natasha, Chante (Zach), Levi
(Haileigh), Garrett, Brandyn, Jordon (Allison), Danika, Caleb, and Morgan; 10
great grand-children; sister June Walker; step daughters Gloria (Roger)
Vandeventer, Linda (Larry) Cuddington, step son-in-law Dave Lash; and
extended family members and friends.

While we are sad Sally is no longer with us, we are grateful that she is at peace in
heaven with family and friends who went before her. She was preceded in death
by her parents; husband Harry Stauffer; son Brian Baker; siblings James Caris,
Sandra Terry, and infant twin sister Nancy Caris; grandson Ricky Glezman,
son-in-law Richard Glezman, and step-daughter Diane Lash.
