Shirley K. Debelack, age 77, passed away on Monday, May 10, 2021. She was a much-loved friend, sister, aunt, and will be missed by so many. She is survived by her brother Charles (Bud) Arnold and wife Lou Ann, her niece Julie Arnold Miller and husband Mark, and her special friends Bonnie Priess and Tim Roache.
Shirley was born in 1943 in Eastport, MI and graduated from Central Lake High School. Before going to college, she lived with her mother Hattie Arnold and worked with her at Hattie's Hamburger Hut in Eastport. She attended Northwestern Michigan College and graduated from Michigan State University where she met her late husband, Mike Debelack. They were married for 39 years and resided in beautiful Leelanau County. Shirley worked for 37 years at The Homestead in Glen Arbor where she retired as Senior Vice President. During that time, she enjoyed her other family, Bob and Susie Kuras, their children Molly, Peter and Jamie, and made numerous lasting friendships.
Shirley will be remembered for her warm smile, her generous spirit, her love of life and her ability to get the job done.
In lieu of a funeral service, a celebration of Shirley's life is planned on Saturday, June 5, 2021 from 4-6 pm at The Homestead. Kindly let us know if you are stopping by to visit by emailing
