Tyler Jonathan Schroeder

Tyler Jonathan Schroeder of Traverse City, Michigan, age 24, passed away on the afternoon of Monday, August 1, 2022. Tyler was born to Casey Schroeder and Tyler Tann at Munson Medical Center on July 31, 1998. Tyler lived and worked in the Traverse City area. He loved working side-by-side with his brothers Dustin and Ricky, his Papa, aunt Nene, and his family of co-workers at Walton Contracting. There aren’t enough words to define what Tyler meant to his family and friends. He was many things— a supportive friend, an old soul, a loving son and a caring grandson. He was the best brother anyone could ask for. He was a classic jokester, lighting up every room he was in. Tyler loved to laugh. He loved to give. He was outgoing and always fun to be around. Tyler was ready for anything, especially an epic road trip. As a sports fan, he enjoyed them all, but loved playing Fantasy Football, watching the Detroit Tigers take the field, or Kobe slaying the court—even the WWE was a favorite. Tyler loved the outdoors— whether he spend his time hiking, playing a round of disc golf, or watching a perfect Lake Michigan sunset. Tyler will be greatly missed by his mother and second dad, Casey Schroeder and Ron Gingras; siblings Dustin (Maeda) Schroeder, Ricky Tann, Rachel (Alex) Tidey, Michael Gingras, Jaime Tann, Jay Tann, and Jonathan Tann; grandparents Gloria Schroeder, Walter Schroeder, Bill (Linda) Gingras; aunt Jeannie (Ed Dog) Blanke; cousins Brandon and Kamryn Blanke; dear friends Cody Pelky and Tyler Meek; and his best friend and feline companion, Corona. He was preceded in death by his father Tyler. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 12, 2022, at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth Street, Traverse City, MI 49684. There will be a time of visitation one hour prior to the service. In celebration of Tyler’s vibrant spirit, feel free to wear something colorful. Immediately following the service, there will be a continued celebration and birthday party for Tyler at the home of Dustin and Maeda, 7707 E. Fouch Road, Traverse City, MI, 49684. Parking is between their driveway and their neighbor’s (red house) yard. Make your way down the driveway, “over the crick and through the woods.” Food and beverages will be provided. Those wishing to offer an expression of sympathy are encouraged to make a memorial contribution to a memorial fund in Tyler’s name.
