Victoria Louise Fenton

Victoria “Vicky” Louise Fenton was reunited with her soul mate, James E. Fenton, in her heavenly home on March 12, 2026 at the age of 93 in the presence of her loving family. She was born to George and Estelle “Della” Moore in Mt. Clemens on October 6, 1932. She was the youngest of three girls. After high school, she attended Michigan Agricultural College (MSU) and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She went on to teach first grade at Selfridge Air Force Base from 1954 – 1957. She found the love of her life in 1955, marrying only three months after they met. They went on to live a beautiful, full life together until his death at age 74. Vicky stated her biggest accomplishment in life was raising and loving her three children. She was a devoted mother in all ways. She was Room Mother for all three children in Elementary school, and remained involved in all their school events, as both an organizer and as an attendee. She could be seen at every one of their sporting and school events and was known by all at the events as the loudest cheerer in the crowd. Her children remember her as their biggest supporter, advocate, and a wonderfully loving mother. Their childhood home was the gathering place for all of their friends and neighborhood children. All were welcome in her home. While raising her children, she also volunteered her time as a tutor at the local elementary school in Ann Arbor, was a Meals and Wheels volunteer, taught Catechism at St. Francis of Assisi Church, and updated parishioner's records at St. Francis. After her children were grown, Vicky and Jim moved from Ann Arbor to Clinton Twp and enjoyed many gatherings with longtime friends. They spend half the year in Michigan and half the year in Nokomis, Florida. They enjoyed various outdoor activities together, including tennis and golf. They had many family members visit them in beautiful Nokomis as often as they could come. Numerous special family memories were made in their Florida Park home. After Jim passed, Vicky enjoyed her ladies group gatherings, playing golf and dining out. She continued to host family in both her Michigan and her Florida homes. Her children and grandchildren carried on the tradition of making the trips to Florida as often as possible, and were always treated with generosity and grace. She was an avid reader, often going through multiple books in a week, loved putting puzzles together, intricate needle pointing and enjoyed watching sports on television. Vicky gave up playing golf at the age of 90, and was unable to go to Florida at the age of 91, but continued her love of reading, and her devotion to watching sports. Her daughter, Jill, was blessed to have Vicky move into her home, then assisted living in Traverse City in the spring o 2024. Her sons were able to visit her frequently while she was in Traverse City, often taking her out to eat at her favorite restaurant Cracker Barrel. She cherished her time with family. She is survived by her sons James (Jane) Fenton of Tigard, Oregon, F. Scott Fenton of Ypsilanti, daughter Jill Fenton-Jones of Traverse City; seven grandchildren Justin, Sonja, Aubrey, Collette, Max, Emily and Carter; three great grandchildren Tessa, Zoe and Nellie; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Nancy and Janet; her beloved husband Jim; her son-in-law Jay and many friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date at St. Paul of Tarsus Church, 41300 Romeo Plank, Clinton Twp, MI 48038.
