Adolph F. Novak, 86, of Cedar joined his heavenly family on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. Adolph was born June 9, 1935 to the late Walter and Pelagia (Mikowski) Novak. On August 13, 1955, Adolph married Arlene Stachnik. In his early years, Adolph worked at Pleva’a Meats, Mikowski’s Market and Cone-Drive Gear. Adolph started his own business, Cedar Disposal, retired in 1997 from the Leelanau County Road Commission and enjoyed a fishing trip with his sons to Canada. He enjoyed watching his children play sports, playing euchre, listening to polka music and spending time with his friends and family. He was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Cedar Hilltoppers Snowmobile Club and Cedar Chamber of Commerce. He was a long-time member of the Cedar Polka Fest. Adolph was preceded in death by his loving wife of sixty-five years, Arlene, his parents, and brothers Lawrence, Joseph and Edward. Adolph is survived by his children, Debbie Flees, Eugene (Grace) Novak, Chopper (Jan) Novak, Pam (Mark) Zientek, Robert (Johanna) Novak and Darren Novak; grandchildren, Amy Robinson, Robert Flees, Chad and Shawn Novak, Jenna Groll, Tara Miller, Brandon and Nathan Zientek, Austin and Aaron Novak, and Krista Bidoul. Adolph is also survived by his fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Visitation, Friday, May 6, 2022 at Holy Rosary Church in Cedar from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with a rosary recited at 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Holy Rosary Church in Cedar. Visitation begins at 10:00 AM and continue until Mass. Rev. Donald Libby will preside. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Holy Rosary Catholic Church or Cedar Fire and Rescue.
