Anthony "Tony" Bischof

Anthony “Tony” Bischof, 85, of Traverse City, completed his earthly accomplishments and joined his beloved bride Nancy on April 11, 2021. Tony was born on September 12, 1935 to the late Anthony and Olivia (Neilander) in Redford Township, MI. He was one of 7 children. Tony proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard from 1956-1960. After retiring from the USCG, he was employed by the USPS as a letter carrier until retirement. He was a faithful member of St. Patrick Catholic Church being very active in the parish. Tony also enjoyed the open waters sailing and was a member of the Maritime Heritage Alliance where he volunteered and participated in the restoration of a number of vessels. He loved to travel and sail on the Madeline. Tony is survived and missed by his siblings Leonard (Sandy), Ralph (Liz), Anne (Art) and Tom (Lynn). Children Dianne (David), Cathy (Robert) and Greg (Krystal) and grandchildren Stephanie (Frank), Ken (Gabrielle), Melissa and Andrew. He is preceded in death by his siblings Clarence and Bernice. The family asks that in lieu of flowers that a contribution be made to the Father Fred Foundation, where Tony often volunteered. Visitation will take place from 5-7pm at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Friday April 16, 2021. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday April 17, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church at 11:00am with visitation from 10:00am until the time of service. The family is being cared for by the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
