Arnold R. Toomey of Traverse City, Michigan, formerly of Durand, MI, age 92, was taken home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, April 14, 2023. He was the only child born to Ralph and Charlotte Toomey at their family home on June 22, 1930, in Gaines, MI.

He was a graduate of Durand High School in 1949, served in the United States Army from 1951-1953. His career was in the automobile industry as a mechanic, service manager for Dean Brothers Inc, and test engineer for AC Delco.

Arnold leaves behind his loving wife of 70 years, Nellie J. (Hoskins) Toomey; his loving children, Gary (Karen), Glenn (Pauline), Becky Rabidue, and Craig (Shannon); nine grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Munson hospital, their doctors, and staff for the care, and compassion displayed during Arnold's illness.

Relatives and friends may call on the family during a time of visitation from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth Street, Traverse City, MI 49684.

Arnold will be laid to rest with a presentation of military honors at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2023, in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 1106 S. Washington Street, Owosso, MI 48867.
