April 15, 1934 - December 25, 2018
Early Christmas morning, with loved ones at her side, our wife, mom and grandmother, gave us the greatest gift. So peaceful and graceful. We witnessed her loving spirit pass on to heaven. Though we are saddened by our loss, we are filled with joy to know that she is in her place in heaven, sitting beside Jesus and dancing with the angels. Barbara Jean Miller was born on April 15, 1934 in Midland, the daughter of Donald Ray and Lydia (Banks) Angus. She married the love of her life, Max D. Miller on April 4, 1953 in Midland, and together they raised four children. Barb lived in several communities over the years, namely Midland, Freeland, Shields and then Traverse City. She loved her family and took good care of them. Her greatest joy was when they were all together. She enjoyed flower gardening along with ballroom dancing, bowling and golf with Max. She shopped endlessly for her children and grand children and loved giving and receiving presents. Barb is survived by her husband Max; her children, Mark D. (Cheryl) Miller and their children Robyn and Matthew, Steve C. Miller and his children Michael, Kayla and Adrianna; Jody A. (Betty Jo) Miller and their children Janelle and Patrick and her great grandchildren, Eliza, Hazel, Wilder, Kelton, Grady, Braylon, Martin, Sloane, Allen, Charles, Joe, Charlie and Aiden. Also surviving is her son-in-law, Dominic Favara and his children Dana and Sarah. Barb is also survived by Mitchell Uhlman of Tampa, FL, who Barb and Max helped to raise; her sister Eva Robishaw of PA and her children, Susan, Becky, Dick, Doug and Janet. Barb was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Lynn Favara; her parents, a brother Ralston Angus, sister Reah Frizzle and brother in law Elmer Robishaw. Visitation for Barb will take place on Friday, Jan. 4 from 2 until 3 p.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home with the service celebrating her life beginning at 3 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Michigan or to The Alzheimer's Association.
