TRAVERSE CITY — Barbara L. Rairigh, 83, a homemaker of Traverse City, formerly of Lansing, died Tuesday morning, Dec. 21, 2010, at Munson Medical Center.Born April 28, 1927, in Lansing, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Florence A. (White) Clippert. On Oct. 11, 1947, in Angola, Ind., she married Victor J. Rairigh. He preceded her in death in 1991.Barbara's life evolved around her family, embracing each member with much love, guidance and understanding. During her younger years, the Rairigh's enjoyed camping, traveling and observing mother nature.While living in the Traverse City area, Barb always looked forward to rides on Old Mission Peninsula, viewing the beauty of "God's Country."She is survived by her children, Dennis Craig (Barbara) Rairigh, of Lansing, Charles (Marilyn) Rairigh, of Gaylord and James H. Rairigh, of Traverse City; grandson, Steven Rairigh, of Traverse City; brother, Richard G. Clippert, of Lake Katrine, N.Y.; and several very special nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was also preceded in death by her siblings, L.G. Clippert and Mary E. Burston.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, with visitation one hour prior to the service at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. The Rev. Justin Grimm will officiate.
