Beverly Ann Costigan, an amazing woman and beloved Nana, of Traverse City passed away unexpectedly on March 3, 2023. She was 81.

Beverly was born on June 24, 1941 in Orange, New Jersey to the late Samuel John and Mildred Louise (Canova) Rich.

Beverly grew up in New Jersey and earned her degree as a Registered Nurse from St. Mary's School of Nursing.

She was blessed with a beautiful love story. After meeting a handsome young man by the name of Ernest Costigan on Spring Break, they eloped just two weeks later. They then celebrated in front of family and friends in April of 1963. Fast forward many years, the two enjoyed over 46 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2009. Together they raised two children and made many wonderful memories. They especially loved spending the winters in Oahu. They loved everything Hawaii had to offer, from the beaches to the sea turtles to the beautiful weather and friendly locals.

Beverly cared for countless individuals throughout her career as a registered nurse. She retired after forty years in the OR and was well loved and respected by both her patients and her colleagues.

In her free time, Beverly enjoyed being with people. She was a very happy person who cherished every minute she spent with her grandson Wyatt. She regularly attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She also never passed up an opportunity to go boating and loved spending time outdoors. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband Ernest, her sister-in-law Joann Rich and her daughter-in-law Michelle Costigan.

Beverly is survived by her son Kip and daughter Kelly (Steven) Danilowicz; grandson Wyatt Danilowicz and her brother Samuel "Butch" Rich.
