Bobbie Jo Shaffran, 76, of Traverse City passed away May 3, 2019 at Munson Medical Center.

Bobbie was born on January 7, 1943 in Pikeville, Kentucky to Ida Biedermann and Howard Compton.

On November 3, 1962 Bobbie was united in marriage to the love of her life Gerald Shaffran at St. Alfonsis Church in Dearborn, Michigan. Bobbie and Gerald celebrated 56 years of marriage and their two children Lynn and Lori. Bobbie found enjoyment in her service as a human resources secretary with the Intermediate School District of Traverse City; a position she held for 30 years. She retired in 2004 and spent time traveling the world with her husband. Her favorite pastimes included cooking and socializing with friends and family. Most of all, she will be forever remembered by her beautiful smile.

Bobbie is forever loved by her husband Gerald Shaffran; children Lynn Perkins (Brian), Hillsborough, NC, and Lori Stoeckel (Robert), Nashville, TN; grand-children Elizabeth and Katie Perkins, Morgan, Nicholas, Lyndsey, and Nathan Stoeckel.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Bobbie will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Church, with visitation beginning one hour prior. A luncheon will follow mass.
