Clarabelle Jane Wilson (nee Korn) passed into eternal life on April 25, 2020, at the age of 97 years. Clarabelle was born in Traverse City on April 21, 1923 and was a lifelong resident of the area. She and her husband Glenn lived on Long Lake for sixty-two years and raised three children, Roger Lee Wilson of Des Moines, Iowa, Gary Glenn Wilson and Janet Wilson Oliver both of Traverse City. Clarabelle worked at Sheffer Collett during World War II along with her mother, Fannie Nemrava (nee Fish). Clarabelle later worked for Tru-fit Trousers making uniforms for many service professions. Mrs. Wilson was an accomplished seamstress, scout and 4-H leader, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She also enjoyed the outdoors with Glenn and family for many years. Clarabelle was fortunate to remain quite active in her later years, including traveling with her best friend, Darlene Hawkins, on many Senior Center trips.

Clarabelle was preceded in death by her husband. She leaves behind her children, Roger (Susanne Grabe Wilson), Gary (Christine Larcom Wilson), and Janet Oliver (husband deceased), four grandchildren—Gale Wilson Webb of Des Moines, Wayne Paul Wilson of Dallas, Jonathan Alexander Wilson, and Ashley Nicole Sachtleben both of this area; great-grandchildren Grace, Nick, and Kate Wilson of Dallas, Alexander Webb of Des Moines, Finn Sachtleben, Vivian and Brie Wilson, all from this area.

Clarabelle was an energetic, positive person throughout her life and will be missed by all who knew her. A celebration of her life will be scheduled after the current virus situation ends and announced at a later date.
