Dale Eldon Millward, 87 of Traverse City, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, March 8, 2019. Dale, the son of Carl and Thelma Millward, was born on February 10, 1932 in Morristown, MN. He was married to the former Evelyn May Salem on August 5, 1951.
Dale was a wartime veteran with the USAF during the Korean War. During his working years, Dale was employed as a Foreman and then General Foreman at Pontiac Motors in Pontiac, MI. After his retirement, Dale dabbled quite successfully in real estate. For several years they moved back to Evelyn's home town to care for her father, and then in the year 2000, they relocated to Traverse City to be close to immediate family.
Dale will always be remembered as a humorous man who loved to be around people, as well as a kind and very generous man. Especially in his earlier years he will be remembered for his astounding singing ability. He could bring down the house in any public setting he chose to sing in.
Dale is survived by his children, Rev. Dan (Laura) Millward of Detroit, and Yvonne Larsen (Mark Poos) of Phoenix; his grandchildren, Jonathan (Tai) Larsen, Jennifer (Tim) Broekhuizen, Christopher (Nikki) Millward and Joseph (Emily) Millward, 17 great-grandchildren, and his sister Joyce Mourik.
Dale was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Evelyn, his parents, brothers Bill and Gary Millward, and his great-grandson "Little Joey" Millward.
