Don Butkovich
July 9, 2021 - June 26, 2021
On June 26, 2021 the love of my life and heart left to be reunited with his beloved mother Anne and father Joseph Butkovich. He was born July 9, 1944 in Flint, Michigan. He was an accomplished artist, painter, sculptor, leather worker, photographer and weaver. He utilized his degree in Fine Arts from Pratt University to appraise fine art. Besides being an appraiser, he sold fine antiques and jewelry at various antique shows. For several years he was in charge of running the Carl Varney Antiques Show at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island. He also for several years held appraisal clinics at the Dennos Museum, Traverse City with funds going to their Children’s Program. Don is survived by his sweetheart and love of 30 years, Gae Ellery; his daughter Eurydice Decker and his granddaughter Charlotte Decker of Brooklyn New York. Gae would like to thank the staff at Munson Hospital for their compassionate care towards Don. Arrangements are being handled by Reynolds Jonkhoff. His Memorial Service is Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 11:00 am with visitation beginning one hour prior. Interment will follow at Peninsula Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to either your favorite charity or your own church.
