Obituary

Surrounded by her loving family at Age 60, Georgia passed quietly into heaven on September 19, 2021 after a brave, lengthy battle with cancer.

Georgia was born on July 12, 1961 in Spring Lake, Michigan and grew up in the beautiful north woods of Interlochen. Georgia graduated from the Interlochen Arts Academy in 1979 and then went on to study at Oakland University, later graduating from Ferris State University. While at Oakland, Georgia met the love of her life, Victor Geha. This 4th of July marked 39 years of their love affair.

Georgia worked at Village Press in the accounting department for over 25 years where she was well loved by her colleagues.

Georgia's biggest passion was her family. She loved nothing better than watching her children, Josh and Amanda, during their numerous soccer tournaments, golf matches, dance recitals and musicals and later spending time with them and her precious grandsons, Parker and Ben. She and Vic enjoyed dining in Traverse City, playing trivia, listening to live music and hanging out with friends. She loved taking a walk, scrap-booking and being with her book club friends. Georgia was a beautiful, gentle soul who touched so many people with her love and kindness and amazing positivity.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ken and Gloria Beatty, and her parents-in-law, Victor and Ruth Geha.

She will lovingly be remembered by her husband, Vic, children Joshua (Sarah) Geha, Amanda (Patrick Kelleher) Geha, grandsons Parker and Benjamin Geha, sister Julie (Guy) Osmun, sisters-in-law Jean (Peter Sr.) Previte, Janice Pavach, Joan (Bill) Charron and Jennifer (Paul) Nardecchia and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all of the family and friends that have sent well wishes and provided meals. A very special thanks to Hospice of Northern Michigan for their help and loving care, especially nurses Dana and Tammy; you are precious Godsends.

A celebration of life gathering will be announced at a later date. Those desiring can make donations in her memory to the Interlochen Arts Academy scholarship fund ( https://www.interlochen.org/giving-to-interlochen ) or to the Cherryland Humane Society ( https://cherrylandhumane.org/donate/ )
