Glen C. Swoveland

Glen C. Swoveland of Traverse City passed away at home on June 5, 2021. He was born in southern Michigan on September 12, 1943, to Garold and Gretchen Swoveland. In December 1970, he married Carolyn Schuler in Traverse City. Glen worked over 35 dedicated years for Consumers Energy. He coached youth baseball for six years, enjoyed singing and playing his guitar at family campfires, and dancing a fast two-step with his wife. He is survived by his wife Carolyn of over 50 wonderful years, his son William Swoveland of Hawaii, daughter Rebecca (Nick) Eitzen of Traverse City, daughter Christine (Jeremiah) Priest of Interlochen; grandchildren Alanna, Carissa, Bethea, Seth, Gresham, Hannah and Liam; great-grandchild Samuel; and sister Garry (Delmar) Priest of Williamsburg. Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Garold and Gretchen, brother Gordon and sister Gaye. He expects his grandchildren to keep his John Deere shiny. A graveside service will be held for Glen at 2:30 on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at The Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens. The family is being cared for by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
