Pastor Glen Noble Walters

June 22, 1934 - June 28, 2020

Pastor Glen Noble Walters, 86, of Traverse City died June 28, 2020 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions. Glen was born on June 22, 1934 to the late Clyde and Blanch (Rood) Walters in Traverse City. Glen married Eliene “Ellie” Emily Mills on May 8, 1954. Glen was a native of Traverse City. He was employed as a plant manager at Concrete Services, retiring in 1997 after more than 30 years with the company. Glen was a member of Traverse Bay United Methodist Church and was a Lay Pastor at Mayfield Chapel for over 30 years. He was one of the originators of the East Bay Fire Department Station 9 and was the fire station chaplain. Glen is survived by his wife of 66 years Eliene, daughter Susan (Tom) Walters, daughter Dawn (David) Varner, son Timothy Walters, son Gary (Wendy) Walters; grandchildren Justin (Jennifer) Varner, Anne (Jay) Clancy, Donald Fletcher, Rebecca Sharp, Andrew Walters and Emmett Walters; great grandchildren Connor, Zoe and Kathryn; sister Frances (Ron) Christensen and many other family members and friends. Glen was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Katie Varner and grandson Jacob Walters. The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 6, 2020 at 11:00 am with visitation beginning at 10:30 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Private family graveside committal services will take place at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be directed to Metro Fire Department (Station 9) or to Mayfield Church.
