TRAVERSE CITY — Harold Paul Williamson, 50, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, at his residence with family at his side. Harold was born May 31, 1960, in Pontiac. He grew up in Waterford Twp., Lake Angelus, and graduated from Waterford Mott High School. He attended Michigan Technological University and graduated from Lawrence Tech with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for General Motors for more than 16 years and then entered the Information Technology field as a Project Manager, working with various companies, with most of his career employed with Hewlett Packard. Harold was a very positive and giving person and was known as a "computer buddy" to his many friends and family members. He would happily devote his time and talent to others to solve their technical problems. Along with computers, Harold had a passion for gourmet cooking and took great joy making meals for others. He is survived by his wife, Leslie; their two teenage children, Heather and Ryan; his parents, Wilbur "Will" J. Williamson and Donna J. Hudson (John); sisters, Kathleen (Scott) Healy, Debi (Larry) Zahn and Carla (Duane) Garwood; and brothers, Scott Williamson, Michael Underwood and Craig (Shirley) Sloan.In lieu of burial, a whole body anatomical gift will be made to Anatomy Gifts Registry of Glen Burnie, Md., for the advancement of cancer research. Memorial services will be held at noon Oct. 2, 2010, at Immanuel Baptist Church located at 1027 McRae Hill Road, Traverse City, MI, with Pastor Matt Herron officiating.His family would like to extend a special thank-you to Munson Hospice for their quality of care and would like to recognize certain individuals for their extraordinary spirit of compassion and attentiveness: nurses Nancy Gallagher and Karen Rudolph, pharmacist Philip DiMondo, social worker Larry Chapel and Dr. Donald Fraser.
