Harry Leon Stryker

Harry Leon Stryker 91, of Empire. On Saturday evening January 15, 2022, he passed away unexpectedly on Dauphin Island, Alabama. Harry was a loving husband to the late Faith (Brummeler) Stryker for 66 years. He leaves behind his sister, Leone (Stryker)Eha and his three children. Michelle (Larry) Hach, Keith (Nina) Stryker and Rene’ (Steven) Roberts. Six grandchildren, Peter (Megan)Hach, Chelsea (Dewald) van den Berg, Abigail (Norman) Purmal, Jenna Hach, Gregory Stryker, Rebecca Roberts and three great- grandchildren, Everett van den Berg, Ryan Purmal and Leo Hach. Harry was born in Muskegon, Michigan and graduated from Michigan Technology University, where he earned a degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. He married Faith Brummeler in May 1955 right before leaving for basic training. He spent the majority of his career working for Delco Electronics in Kokomo, Indiana where he patented a number of products. Harry and Faith bought property on Little Glen Lake in 1965 and they proceeded to retire to their A frame in 1987. It was during the summers that Harry taught his children and grandchildren how to water ski, his favorite activity. Harry and Faith were members of the Glen Lake Reform Church. Harry’s life will be celebrated on March 26th at the Glen Lake Reform Church at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Glen Lake Reform Church or the Glen Lake Community Library, a place that he spent many hours looking for new books to read.
